The definition of the Women's Apertura Tournament entered its final stretch. With dates 14 and 15 remaining, Racing and San Lorenzo lead the table with 32 points, while River Plate has 26 and still has mathematical possibilities of reaching the top. Without goal difference as a tiebreaker, in this Tournament any equality in first place will be played in a match to define the champion.
Racing (32 points): shares the leadership with San Lorenzo and depends on itself to be champion.
San Lorenzo (32 points): is in the same situation as Racing and will seek to maintain first place in the two remaining dates. If they are equal in points at the end of the competition, they will face each other in a final on a neutral court to define who wins the title.
River Plate (26 points): they must win their two games to reach 32 points and they need Racing and San Lorenzo not to add any points in the two remaining games.
Racing and San Lorenzo, with the chance in their hands
The Academy shares the leadership and depends exclusively on what it does in the two remaining days. On matchday 14 they will host Unión, last in the table with just three points, and then they will visit San Luis. If they win both matches they will reach 38 points and, at least, they will ensure a tiebreaker if San Lorenzo also achieves an ideal score. It could even be consecrated before the closing if Las Santitas leaves points along the way.
El Ciclón will first face a home match against San Luis and will close the championship as a visitor against Lanús. Like Racing, if you add the remaining six points you will reach 38 units. If both leaders tie at the top, the champion will be determined in a tiebreaker match.
River, forced to win and wait
The panorama of Las Millonarias is considerably more complex. With 26 points, they are forced to beat SAT on matchday 14 and Belgrano on the last match to reach 32 points. However, that will not be enough, it also needs Racing and San Lorenzo not to add any points between the two remaining games. Any victory or draw for any of the leaders will leave Núñez's team without a chance. Furthermore, on paper, River seems to have the most demanding schedule of the three candidates since it will close the tournament against Belgrano, which is seventh with 19 points, while Racing and San Lorenzo will face rivals from the lower half of the table.
With this panorama, the two final dates promise an exciting definition: Racing and San Lorenzo start with an advantage and depend on themselves to lift the trophy, while River faces a much more complicated mission: win everything and hope that other people's results allow them to stay alive in the fight for the championship.
