Before the eyes of more than 26,000 fans the game began. At five minutes, a great cross from Lourdes Rodríguez ended up in the back of the net after Mayra Acevedo's shot, which put the overall score at 1 to 1 to excite all of Córdoba. Before the first half ended, at 30', Alaides Paz grabbed a rebound and scored the goal that turned the series around for the Pirates to win.
Belgrano's path to the title
Throughout the year, Belgrano played 29 games and only lost five, one of them the first leg of the final that later ended up turning around. In Zone A of the Clausura, Alberdi's team finished at the top with 19 points in eight games played. In the quarterfinals they left out Ferro on penalties, and in the semis they eliminated Boca, the most champion team in women's soccer in Argentina.
In the final both teams had the opportunity to become champions for the first time in their history. However, Belgrano has a particular plus: it is the first time that a team from Córdoba has won the Argentine championship, in addition to being the second team from the interior to become local soccer champion.
The Pirata president, Luis Fabián Artime, reflected on this great victory and said that it is the result of years of investment in women's soccer. And the result is visible.
