The Apertura Tournament vibrates until the end: the recommended FutFemGol of date 14

Por Redacción FutFemGolJuly 11, 2026

As on all dates, FutFemGol chose the most attractive duels on the fourteenth day of a 2026 Apertura Tournament that does not slow down.

The 2026 Women's Apertura Tournament is about to end, but it still has several definitions to see. The most obvious is at the top, which has Racing and San Lorenzo sharing the lead. They are closely followed by River, the only team with a mathematical chance of catching them, six points behind with six points at stake.

In any case, the lower part of the table will also have exciting days. Although the relegations will be defined at the end of the next championship, the closing of this competition can dictate and sentence the aspirations of the majority of the teams, even the most sensitive ones.

As it is, Newell's will host Independiente and Lanús will visit Talleres on Sunday, reserving six matches for Monday. Among the remaining duels, the cross between River and S.A.T., Ferro against Boca, Racing against Unión and San Lorenzo against San Luis stand out.

In this context, FutFemGol chose the three most attractive matches on date 14 of the Women's Apertura Tournament and prepares you for similar confrontations with the most relevant data.

The duel that could define a future relegation: Newell's will host Independiente

The penultimate date of the Apertura Tournament will offer a match with enormous significance in the fight for permanence. On Sunday from 3 p.m., Newell's will host Independiente at the Jorge Griffa Complex. The Leprosas occupy 15th place with five points, while the Diablas are 14th with 10, so the result may be decisive considering the general table that will define the relegations at the end of the season.

Those led by Gastón Aguirre arrive weakened after falling 2-0 against Huracán and adding their tenth defeat in the last 11 games. Leandro Cappuccio's team is not going through a good present either: it lost the Avellaneda classic 3-1 against Racing and has accumulated five consecutive falls.

The track record favors Newell's, which won two of the four official crosses contested. Independiente won on one occasion and the remainder finished tied, with five goals scored by Lepra and two by Rojo. However, the most recent precedent was left in the hands of Avellaneda.

On the sixth date of the Second Tournament 2025, Independiente beat Newell's 1-0 in the Libertadores de América thanks to a goal from Oriana Villa, the Diablas' top scorer in the current championship. At the Rosario venue that will host the next match, however, the last match favored the locals: it was 1-0 in the Clausura 2024 with a goal from Stefanía Orrego.

Beyond the points at stake, the match will pit two direct rivals against each other in the fight to retain the category. Relegations will be defined with the sum of the Apertura and the next Clausura, so each unit can be decisive. Among the figures to follow are Julieta Aguilar, who established herself as the main offensive reference of the Leprosas at just 15 years old, in addition to the aforementioned Villa and Ochoa, two of the most decisive soccer players among the Diablas.

Unión wants to complicate Racing like San Lorenzo resisted and the Academy dreams of its first star

Racing will face another key step in its dream of winning the first title in its history. On Monday, from 3:00 p.m., they will receive Unión at the Tita Mattiussi Premises. The Tatengas, last with three units, will seek to repeat the performance that a few days ago almost took points away from the Santitas.

Héctor Bracamonte's team arrives stronger after winning 3-1 in the classic against Independiente. Marleidy Cossio, Agostina Holzheier and Eugenia Nardone scored for a team that won six of its last seven games and achieved its second consecutive victory. Las Tatengas, for their part, fell 2-1 against San Lorenzo, although they sold the defeat dearly thanks to Alegra Risso's first goal in the top category.

The match will have a special flavor: it will be the first official confrontation between Racing and Unión in the highest category. There will, therefore, be no antecedents or history to serve as a reference for a completely unprecedented crossing.

The Academy also carries a recent history of elusive definitions. She was runner-up in the Apertura 2024 (second after Boca), Clausura 2024 (below San Lorenzo) and also the Second Tournament 2025, when she lost the final against Belgrano. With just two dates left, the Albiceleste team will try to transform that experience into the definitive push towards consecration.

Among the protagonists, Holzheier and Cossio stand out, who scored in the last two days and share Racing's scoring leadership with seven goals. It will also be a special afternoon for Nardone, scorer of her first goal since returning to the Academy. On the Unión side, all eyes will be on Risso, who has just debuted his account in the First Division.

They have nothing about saints: San Lorenzo seeks another title, but San Luis wants to thwart him

San Lorenzo will also reach the penultimate date knowing that it cannot give ground. On Monday, also at 3 p.m., they will receive San Luis in Ciudad Deportiva with the obligation to continue sharing the top with Racing. Las Santitas lead the Apertura with 32 points, while Puntanas occupy 11th place with 16 points.

Franco Bertera's team is going through a great present: they beat Unión 2-1 with goals from Gisel Vidal and Débora Molina and achieved their seventh victory in the last eight games. San Luis, on the other hand, has just lost 2-1 against Talleres and, despite taking the lead on the scoreboard with a great goal from Victoria Vázquez, was unable to maintain the advantage and saw its streak of five games without defeats interrupted.

The record favors San Lorenzo, since the Puntanas failed to beat the Ciclón: the Santitas won two of the three official matches and tied the remaining one, with seven goals scored against just one against. The last confrontation between the two also ended in a rout.

It was 4-0 in Ciudad Deportiva on date 15 of the First Tournament 2025. Juana Fonseca scored twice, while Amalia Peña and Delfina Pafundi completed the score. This meeting also represents the most recent precedent in the scenario that will receive them again.

San Luis enjoys an unbeatable present from Victoria Vázquez, who has six goals in the Apertura Tournament. (@sanluisfclub)

Crisely Pavón will once again face San Luis, the club he played for before transferring to Belgrano prior to joining San Lorenzo. We will also have to closely follow Pafundi, Santitas' top scorer with five goals and scorer of a goal in the last meeting between the two. On the visiting side, Vázquez stands out, who has already accumulated six conquests and continues to be the main offensive card of the Puntanas.
