The 2026 Women's Clausura Tournament is still taking shape, but it has already given us dozens of unexpected results and memorable matches. With crosses that can impact all areas of the table, the third day promises vibrant duels with guaranteed excitement.

Date 3 will begin on Saturday, when Boca hosts Newell's and Lanús does the same against Gimnasia. On Sunday morning, Ferro will face Racing, in Caballito, and in the afternoon, San Luis will face Banfield and Unión will face River.
Talleres and Independiente will host San Lorenzo and Belgrano, respectively, on Monday, and Huracán will close the day on Tuesday, against S.A.T. Ferro wants to defend its undefeated record, but Racing needs to recover quickly from its fall against Boca
Ferro will have a litmus test to confirm its great start in the Clausura Tournament: it will receive Racing this Sunday from 9:30 a.m. on the Caballito Auxiliary Court. The Purslanes have not yet lost in the championship and have already achieved important results against two teams that appear among the main candidates for the title.
Juan Palermo's team defeated Talleres at home and then rescued a 2-2 draw on their visit to San Lorenzo. With four points, it occupies fourth place in the Clausura and is also going through a good moment in the general table, where it has 23 points. The Academy, on the other hand, could not add to the competition because it postponed its debut against Lanús and has just suffered an unexpected defeat at home: Boca beat it 2-1 in the classic.

That result meant only Racing's second fall in all of 2026, and the first since becoming Apertura champion. Those led by Héctor Bracamonte will then have a quick opportunity to react, although the calendar will not give them room to relax. Luckily for them, they will visit a rival against whom they have a very favorable record: Ferro won one and tied another game, but Avellaneda's team triumphed five times with a total of 19 goals for and 8 against.
The most recent precedent between the two was precisely during the Apertura. On the third date, Racing won 2-0 at the Tita Mattiussi with a goal against and another from Sindy Ramírez. The Academy also won the last time it visited the Caballito auxiliary court: it was 4-1 in March 2025, and that day Florencia Silva converted; Stefanía Orrego, Milagros Otazú, Dolores Maregatti and Sindy Ramírez.

Among the protagonists there will be several reunions and notable names. Luana Muñoz, Maricel González and Rocío Gómez went through Racing and will now defend Ferro. On the other side, Rocío Bueno arrives after scoring against Boca and has already accumulated four goals in 2026, two of them in the last three Academy appearances.
Union vs. River: the unexpected leader of the Clausura will receive a historic women's soccer player in Santa Fe
Unión is experiencing a beginning of Closing that few imagined. The Tatengas won their first two games in the highest category, they are one of the two teams that maintain an ideal score and reach the third day sharing the leadership along with San Luis. Now they will have a completely different test: they will receive River this Sunday from 3:00 p.m. at their home.

Paulo Poccia's team first defeated Gimnasia and then dealt another blow by beating Banfield 2-1 as a visitor. Camila Acevedo and Emilse Albornos scored the winning goals at Florencio Sola and allowed Unión to add its first two victories since its arrival in Primera. The reality is even more striking if you look at the general table: the Santa Fe team are 15th with just nine points, but they started the Clausura at full speed.
River, on the other hand, seeks to recover ground after an irregular start. Las Millonarias lost two consecutive games and only returned to victory last night, when they defeated Independiente 1-0 with a goal from Mercedes Pereyra. With three points, they are tenth in the championship, although their present in the general table is very different: they are third with 32 units.
The only official precedent between the two ended with a resounding victory: on the third date of the Apertura, the Millonarias crushed Paulo Poccia's team 6-1 at the River Camp, with doubles from Julieta Romero and Paloma Fagiano, in addition to goals from Kimberlyn Campos and Mercedes Pereyra. Albornos scored for the Tatengas, who will now have the opportunity to play this duel for the first time in Santa Fe.

Emilse Albornos herself will be one of the players to follow: she is Unión's top scorer, she scored three goals in her last four appearances and already knows what it's like to convert River. On the other side will be Lara Esponda, who kept a clean sheet in three of the last four games and is going through a very promising present under the three sticks of the Argentine National Team.
Two contenders for the title who meet early: a reinforced Talleres will face a current San Lorenzo
Talleres and San Lorenzo will cross paths on Monday from 5pm with completely opposite sensations. The Matadoras need to react as soon as possible so as not to distance themselves from the fight for the championship, while the Santitas maintain the same squad that took them to the runner-up position in the Apertura and started again among the protagonists.
Leandro Iglesias' team is going through a worrying streak: it has accumulated three defeats and a draw in its last four games. In the Clausura they barely added a point, after the 2-2 against S.A.T., and appear twelfth. For this reason, the match against San Lorenzo is presented as an immediate opportunity to change course.

The Cyclone situation is different. Those led by Franco Bertera beat Boca 2-1 in their debut and then tied 2-2 with Ferro, so they have four units and occupy third place. In addition, their annual campaign keeps them at the top: San Lorenzo leads the general table with 39 points, while Talleres is fifth with 27.
Las Matadoras, precisely, made a strong bet during the transfer market to fight at the top again. They incorporated top players like Yamila Rodríguez and Eliana Stabile, but they still could not translate these reinforcements into results. On the other hand, the Santitas did not need modifications and kept the squad that finished second in the Apertura.

The most recent precedent also favors Ciclón: in March, San Lorenzo won 3-0 with a double from Camila López and the same from Emily Arias. And in La Boutique, the scene of the next match, the visitors also won the last time: it was 3-1 in September 2025, when Catalina Primo scored; Luciana Zacmon, Ichika Egashira and Katherine Lineth Castillo. Of three games against each other, the T triumphed in the first in their stadium but the Santitas won the last two mentioned matches.
Emily Arias also arrives on a roll, with goals in her last two games against Boca and Ferro. Talleres will have another special protagonist in Juana Fonseca: the current Matadoras forward was a scorer for San Lorenzo and will now seek to make good on her past against Ciclón.
