The serious complaint of the San Lorenzo players against the leadership

The San Lorenzo players denounced serious irregularities on the part of the club. The San Lorenzo First Division team denounced serious irregularities on the part of the club's leadership with a strong statement on social networks that was shared by all the soccer players. In the letter, the players explained that they spoke with the managers prior to the publication of the statement, although they did not listen to their complaints nor were there any changes regarding the irregularities they denounce. “As first division professional players of Club Atlético San Lorenzo, we want to express our disagreement and make public the difficult situation that we have been going through for several months,” the statement begins and adds: “Next, we detail a series of irregularities and shortcomings that directly affect our performance, well-being and dignity as professional players.” Then, they pointed out: "Despite our commitment, daily dedication and pride in representing these colors, for a long time, we have endured poor conditions to train, compete and live that we do not deserve." Regarding the irregularities, they detailed: "Firstly, we have not had medical coverage for more than four months, and for three months we were training without a doctor. Added to this situation is the lack of basic supplies and necessary elements for the players in rehabilitation. On the other hand, the fields where we train are in poor condition and are not suitable for professional practice. Likewise, with regard to training, since January we have trained with only one change of clothes, without our own locker room and without proper bathrooms." On the other hand, they explained the situation faced by those who live in the pension located in the Ciudad Deportiva. "The players who stay in the pension live in precarious conditions, with electricity and water outages every three days and they also do not have hot water. There is no kitchen or merchandise and there are problems with humidity and leaks," they said. On the other hand, they added: "With regard to transfers and logistics, we have had to face some irregularities. The lack of buses for official matches, even in important matches such as those played against Platense, Huracán and in friendlies with the Argentine National Team." As if that were not enough, they also reported problems with the food they receive from the club. "Food has been another of the great shortcomings. On several occasions, we did not have anything for breakfast so we resorted to paying for it out of our own pockets. Likewise, this situation has been repeated in some games in which we did not have food," they detailed. Likewise, they revealed: "Our salaries are also affected. We have not collected any travel expenses since the beginning of the year and neither have we received last year's prizes for having been champions of the 2024 tournament. In addition, the institution claims to assume housing rental costs but this promise is never formalized." The situation of the San Lorenzo Youth Division In the statement the players also referred to the situation of the Youth Divisions. "Our lower divisions are not exempt from this reality either. They lost three games due to lack of management management, as well as forgetting to request an ambulance," they said and added: "They also do not have official club clothing or enough water to hydrate during the games." The statement from the San Lorenzo coaching staff Franco Bertera, the technical director of the first division, supported the players' claim on their social networks and expressed that "without a structural change in resource management we cannot ensure that San Lorenzo continues to be a benchmark for women's soccer, nor a place where players can develop as professionals in decent conditions." It should be noted that, as FutFemGol was able to find out, the Las Santitas coaching staff was the one that decided to suspend the trip to the preseason in Mendoza on Friday night under the argument that those who were in charge of managing the stay had not received proof of payment and could not guarantee the service.
