Gymnastics and S.A.T. The points were shared on Friday, thanks to goals from Florencia Gaetán and Gisele García, while San Lorenzo did not take advantage of Belgrano. Saturday morning had another tie: Brenda Varela and Emeremi Dela Hanty scored for Lanús and San Luis.

New leader: Racing gave the blow against River and took advantage of the fact that San Lorenzo tied with Belgrano

Until last day, River was the only leader in the 2026 Women's Apertura Tournament. However, on its own premises the undefeated team lost to San Lorenzo, which went on to share the top of the table with Racing. Now, Academicas and Millonarias faced each other for a crucial duel in the race towards the title, definitive after the last draw of the Santitas.

Although they tried to win at all costs, San Lorenzo could not break the zero at home against Belgrano and ended Friday momentarily as the leader of the championship, adding 23 points. Racing - with 22 units - knew that by tying on Sunday they would reach Ciclón and by winning they would surpass them. While River - with 20 goals - dreamed of a victory that would give them back the top spot shared with the Santitas.

With such pressure, Racing and River starred in a great game at the Tita Mattiussi. The Millonarias took the lead with a penalty goal from their top scorer, Kimberlyn Campos, who scored her fourth goal of the season. Minutes later he applied the inexorable Law of Former Agostina Holzheier, which turned it around for the Academics with a spectacular double.

Holzheier equaled her Racing teammate Marleidy Cossio and Florencia Gaetán (Gimnasia) with 5 goals, the top scorers of the 2026 Apertura Tournament. With her fourth goal in 4 games, she scored against River for the second time in her career: the previous one was on December 2-2, 2024, on date 17 of the Clausura of that year. That day Ichika Egashira, Carolina Birizamberri and Sindy Ramírez also left their signature.

Racing finished off the classic thanks to Sindy, who had not scored since matchday 6 against S.A.T. and reached 5 goals from the aforementioned Holzheier, Cossio and Gaetán. In this way, those led by Héctor Bracamonte took advantage of San Lorenzo's tie with Belgrano and established themselves as the only leaders in the contest. In addition, they gave River their first loss as a visitor all year, a rival they had not defeated since May 2023.

Boca was friendly with the victory and beat Unión, who failed to show its head

If there were two teams in need of confidence in the championship, it was Boca and Unión -although with different realities, of course-. The Tatengas, recently promoted, visited Boca, being the only team without victories in the entire league. For their part, the Gladiators, accustomed to a history of titles and absolute dominance, are trying to leave behind the worst streak in their history.

In this context they met at Casa Amarilla and Boca asserted their home team with a resounding victory. Xeneize had regained victory the previous weekend, beating Independiente by the slightest difference, but against Unión they were friendly with victory and regained authority.

Carolina Troncoso opened the scoring with her first goal in 2026: she had not scored since September of last year, during Boca's 4-0 win over San Luis in La Pedrera for the fifth day of the Second 2025 Tournament. Ana Ramírez soon stretched the lead, who made her second score as a Gladiadora in the Women's Apertura. Before, he had applied the Law of the Ex against Banfield at the Florencio Sola, back on date 5 of the championship.

A few minutes before the end, Florencia Quiñones' team sealed the match thanks to Verónica Acuña, introduced from the bench, who was excited by her debut in the nets with Boca. The ex-Banfield and Rosario Central had 30 official goals in First Division, but their last sacred cry had been on September 8 of last year at the Predio Cristalería, also through the Ex Law in the 2-0 victory of the Taladro against the Canallas.

Thus things were, Boca ended a streak of 5 games without winning at home and added their first three points of the tournament against their people. Their last victory at the Pedro Pompilio had been in November of last year, 1-0 against Gimnasia with a goal from Kishi Núñez. Furthermore, the Gladiators had not scored 3 or more goals in the same game for more than 9 months, in the aforementioned win against San Luis where Carolina Troncoso scored. For her part, Laurina Oliveros added her third consecutive undefeated goal and Unión returned to Santa Fe at the bottom of the table.

A unique rain of goals: Ferro beat Independiente and recovered his path in the Apertura

To size up Ferro's curious barrage of goals, you have to understand the context of both teams. The Purslanes had scored two goals all season, the first of them against them and the remaining one from Maricel González. With these goals they had added two victories, against Newell's and Belgrano respectively. Independiente, for its part, had just lost its undefeated 4 matches against Boca with 3 wins, conceding an average of one goal per game. Even so, this crossing stood out in the previous one for its parity.

And it started as divided as expected. Rocío Correa opened the scoring with her first goal in Ferro, the 22nd for 'Tucu' in the top category during the semi-professional era. It was soon tied by Evelyn Estigarribia, who barely had a goal in the First Division with Vélez a little over a year ago (during the 1-1 draw against Racing on matchday 13 of Tournament I 2025). A few minutes before halftime, Tiziana Lezcano put the local team ahead, adding 6 official scores over 4 years with her current club in the “A”.

In the complement the pot was uncovered. As if three goals from unusual strikers had not been enough, Sarah Mirr stretched Ferro's lead by seeing her debut in the nets in Argentina. The American ex-Boca usually dresses as an assistant, but at last her goal was opened. Later he made it 4-1 Correa, who added two doubles in his last time at Huracán but, apart from a hat-trick with San Lorenzo in 2019, he is not used to scoring more than one goal in the same game.

Some Law of the Ex was missing, which arrived in the head of Belén Abreu. The Uruguayan, who arrived at Ferro this year, had 10 goals in Independiente and ended a streak of more than a year without scoring: her last goal as Diabla was during the 1-1 against Banfield on date 11 of Apertura 2025, April 19. Although she herself had the opportunity to make it 6-1 by chasing a rebound, she ended up being anticipated by Milagros Cisneros. Thus the side scored her first official goal after a long career of years in Belgrano.

In this way the rain of goals occurred in Caballito, full of curiosities and coincidences translated into sacred screams. It was the first time since his promotion to the top category that Ferro scored 6 goals or more, the second official time that Independiente received that number of goals against per league: Rojo had fallen 6-0 at home against Boca on December 8, 2024, the day they fired their historic goalkeeper Florencia Chiribelo. Equaling River 6-1 Unión as the highest score in the Women's Apertura Tournament, the Purslanes retaliated with a performance that was as unique as it was formidable.
