The sixth day of the Apertura Tournament pitted many direct rivals against each other in their respective quests, also clashing opposite realities and testing the toughest teams in the competition. Even so, it left a lot of surprises that made people talk.

This date of the championship began with three simultaneous matches last Friday, in which S.A.T., Banfield and San Lorenzo won against Racing, Ferro and Newell's, respectively.
Again with more than one game at a time, on Saturday Unión and Independiente tied in Santa Fe while Lanús struck the blow, beating Belgrano. On Sunday San Luis equaled Huracán and on Monday Talleres closed the day beating Gimnasia in Córdoba.

Emotion and surprise, part 2: Racing celebrated Sindy Ramírez's 100 games but lost its undefeated record against S.A.T.
In the gems of the last date we told how S.A.T. and Banfield flooded the Apertura Women's Tournament with emotion in their respective matches, but ended up being surprised with unexpected falls against Independiente and Boca. This time, with Tele again as the protagonist, it was Racing's turn to be stunned in its Tita Mattiussi.
The Academy began this day with the possibility of finishing it as the only leader since it shared the top of the table with River, which postponed the Superclásico against Boca. Minutes before facing S.A.T., the Avellaneda institution decorated Sindy Ramírez celebrating her 100 games in the club and faced the dispute with a very motivating emotional injection between her present and her aspirations.

In addition, they went ahead with a penalty goal from Ramírez herself, who became the top scorer of the championship for being the first player to reach 4 goals. Adding the celebration for the numbers that Sindy reached and the partial victory, everything seemed on track for the three points to stay at the Tita Mattiussi venue. But S.A.T. I had other plans.
Towards the end, Lara López equalized the duel with her second goal on La Tele and made the match tense. Until, a few minutes later, Vanina Bruzzone applied the Lex de la Ex and gave Moreno's team the second victory in its history against Racing. The "made in Tita Mattiussi" ended a streak of exactly one year without scoring and scored the fifth official goal of her career.

S.A.T. He ended up coming back and taking a historic result from the house of Racing, whose undefeated record ended and ended up being dethroned. Thanks to the simultaneous victory of Banfield, the Drill regained the lead and the Apertura Tournament became much more even. La Tele, for its part, regained victory after two defeats and two draws, returning to the top half of the table.
Thanks to this defeat by Racing and the fall of Gimnasia to Talleres, today River is the only undefeated team in the Women's Apertura Tournament.
Banfield surpassed Ferro and regained the lead, at least until River plays the Superclásico with Boca
Taking advantage of Racing's unexpected fall, Banfield took three very valuable points from Caballito and won by the slightest difference in their visit to Ferro to return, thus, to 1st place in the league. It should be noted that the Academy is equal in points with River, but the Millonarias still have to play a game against Boca, due to the recent postponement of the Superclásico. So the table may change sooner rather than later.
After a tight and close development of the match, Banfield found the advantage at the end of the match from the penalty spot. Ana Sampaio scored the winning goal and, coincidentally like Vanina Bruzzone in Racing - S.A.T., scored again after a whole year without doing so. It was the Brazilian defender's seventh goal in the Drill, which meant an agonizing and special victory against a very tough rival like Ferro on her own court.

Banfield reached 15 units, 2 more than the 13 totaled by River, San Lorenzo and Racing, and achieved 5 wins in 6 days. In addition, they enjoy an unbeatable present, since they are among the teams with the fewest goals in the tournament. In fact, their goalkeeper, Priscila Siben, is the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets at present, with 4 clean sheets in 6 matches: she has better numbers than figures of the stature of Sofía Olivera, Agustina Sánchez, Solana Pereyra or Alicia Bobadilla, among many others.

For this reason, after the reality check he suffered against Boca, Banfield recovered quickly, and made it very clear against Ferro. He is advancing at a steady pace and consolidating himself among the main candidates for the title. Enjoy a dream moment, explained by good collective functioning and necessary individual imbalances. El Drill regained confidence, authority and the top of the table. Or well, everything mentioned at least until River plays the Superclásico.
Lanús placed First: they beat Belgrano and were reunited with victory in the highest category after 3 years
Until the beginning of the sixth date there was only one team without points in the Women's Apertura Tournament, and that was Lanús. Even Unión had added a unit from their draw against Belgrano about two weeks ago. Now it was the Garnets' turn to receive the Pirates and they gave the hit of the day, adding their first victory since their return to the highest category against the current Argentine soccer champions.
Lanús's last victory in the First Division had been against Huracán for the second date of the 2023 League Cup, on August 25 of that year. On that occasion Magalí Badilla, with a double, and Fiamma Romero scored the goals in La Quemita, while Brisa Campos and Rocío Lueje scored for the Globo. That was Garnet's last championship before its relegation to the Second Division. He returned to “A” this season and, against Belgrano, he met again with a similar result.

Brenda Varela opened the scoring with the first Olympic goal of 2026, apart from the debut in the nets for Lanús on its return to Primera. 'Tucu', the club's all-time top scorer in the “A”, had not officially scored in this category since September 2024, but when she played for Independiente, during the 2-2 draw against Huracán. He later extended the lead and scored a double for the first time since April of the same year mentioned above.
Lanús reached the third goal thanks to Amalia Peña, who scored her first goal for the current club and the seventh of her career. Finally Micaela Bulacio -with her first score in Primera- and Victoria Arrietto scored to warm up the end. Although Belgrano's efforts were not enough to avoid Granate's historic victory in its Valentín Alsina, where it had not won for 3 years. Yes, that's how magnificent and unusual the 3-2 of the newly promoted team was.

At the same time, Unión was minutes away from adding its first victory in the highest category, but Independiente ruined its plans. Camila Acevedo opened the scoring and Camila Ochoa immediately equalized it. Mailén Herman was giving the victory to the Tatengas, until Oriana Villa took advantage of a blunder by the locals and divided the points in Santa Fe. After all, the two most recent promotions seem to be going well. Even so, Lanús knew how to beat Belgrano and “came first.”
