Hurricane vs. Union: a six-point game at the bottom of the table

Unmissable duels not only abound from the middle of the table upwards, but there are also them in the lower zone of the Women's Apertura Tournament. Although there are only 4 rounds of the championship, without a doubt Huracán and Unión are almost forced to add points to aspire to a year that takes them away from the relegation zone.

It is also true that the two teams left a good image last day: Unión added the first point in its history in the top category, drawing without goals - and outnumbered - against the current champion, Belgrano, while Huracán beat Independiente in the Libertadores de América with a goal from Patricia Leguizamón.

Although there is no official record in the semi-professional era between Huracán and Unión, a duel as divided as it is frenetic is to be expected. El Globo has 4 units and shares 8th place with Boca, Newell's and Ferro, while Tatengue lies 14th. It could be considered a cross between direct rivals who have the chance to add three gold points, with the addition of denying that possibility to the current opponent.

Huracán is coming off two seasons in which it almost lost the category and Unión is adapting to Primera as much as it can. Both teams have an unfavorable goal difference - the home team 3 to 5 and the away team 4 to 11 -, so they share the objective of reversing that negative artillery quota that tormented them so far in the championship.

Speaking of goals, Emilse Albornos will want to score again in Unión to confirm herself as the competition's top scorer. It should also be noted that goalkeepers Guadalupe Loze, in her debut with Huracán, and Naila Zaninetti, featured against Belgrano, kept their record undefeated during the last match mentioned above. Lucía Almada, coincidentally ex-Quemera today at Tatengue, will also be in this duel.

Unión will visit Huracán in La Quemita on Sunday, May 3 at 9 and the match will be broadcast for free on LPF Play.

Racing - San Lorenzo: a classic that could be a final

Among the most historic rivalries in Argentine women's football, Racing and San Lorenzo stand out, two clubs that in recent years have demonstrated their greatness by establishing themselves among the best teams in the league.

They have faced each other 11 times since professionalism became official, of which they tied 4, San Lorenzo won 4 and Racing was left with 3. In terms of goals, the Santitas also have a slight difference in their favor: 15 to 12.

The last time they faced each other at the Tita Mattiussi - the scene of the next match - was in the debut of the Second Tournament 2025 and they delivered a great game. Agostina Holzheier put Racing ahead, but Juana Fonseca partially tied for San Lorenzo. Sindy Ramírez stretched the Academy's lead, until Rocío Vázquez sealed equality in Avellaneda.

In the Quarterfinals of the same competition, Racing won in Ciudad Deportiva by the minimal difference that Rocío Bueno marked and eliminated San Lorenzo. Then, they beat Boca and subsequently reached the final where they lost to Belgrano. Thus the Academy obtained the third runner-up finish in the semi-professional era, on the verge of a title that has been strongly resisting.

This time, both those led by Héctor Bracamonte and Franco Bertera's team arrive at this classic with equally encouraging presents: Racing and San Lorenzo share, along with River and Gimnasia, the guard of Banfield, adding 10 points as a result of three wins and a draw each, apart from a positive goal difference in both cases.

They also come from obtaining very good results against very tough rivals. San Lorenzo won 3-1 at home against S.A.T. (Karen Puentes, Delfina Pafundi and Débora Molina; Zoraida Leguizamón), while Racing tied 1-1 with Talleres on their visit to La Boutique, thanks to the penalties of the aforementioned Fonseca and Ramírez.

Among so many luxury names, figures stand out who will add a special seasoning to such a match. Sindy Ramírez not only reached 3 goals and equaled the top scorers of the Women's Apertura Tournament, but she is one of the ex-San Lorenzo players who now stand out in Racing. She is not the only one, since like Santita she coincided with Rocío Vázquez and Alicia Bobadilla, today classmates at the Academy.

San Lorenzo also has a couple of ex-Racing players: Julieta Blanco and Florencia Curril. While the goalkeeper relieves Solana Pereyra, the midfielder alternates between the Santitas.

Racing will host San Lorenzo at the Tita Mattiussi Premises on the same Sunday, May 3, but from 11 a.m. It will also be broadcast for free on LPF Play.

Banfield dreams big, Boca needs to regain authority

Who would have thought, a few years ago, that a leading Banfield would receive a Boca team, strikingly, in need of points. This is how the present is described, which has the leading Drill with a perfect score and Xeneize adding 4 units, sharing 8th place with Newell's, Huracán and Ferro.

Banfield's current performance is unbeatable, since it won all 4 games it played and has just beaten its classic rival Lanús as a visitor, with goals from Yosneidy Zambrano and Antonella Estigarribia. Boca, on the other hand, suffered a historic defeat against Gimnasia in Casa Amarilla, the first against La Manada, thanks to Lali Esquivel's agonizing goal.

Despite this, although Xeneize is going through a sensitive moment and Banfield dreams big, history indicates that the result of this crossing may be radically opposite to what we imagined in the previous one. The Gladiators won all 5 matches against the Drill, scoring 9 goals and conceding only 1.

To get to the point, the last confrontation was almost a year ago, in May 2025, when a goal from Andrea Ojeda made Boca win on their visit to Banfield. On that occasion they played at the same venue that will cross them soon, the Florencio Sola Stadium.

Even more curious is that Boca has up to four former Banfield figures, who joined very recently: Ana Ramírez -recovering from a tear-, Luzmila Ramírez, Verónica Acuña and Lola Ruffini. El Taladro also has two new rivals, Priscila Siben and Damaris Martínez.

Siben, by the way, has 3 clean sheets in a row: she equaled Agustina Sánchez as the goalkeepers with the most clean sheets so far this year. The young woman was Boca's third goalkeeper until last year and, in Banfield, she found the opportunity to add her first minutes in the top category.

Banfield and Boca will face each other at the Florencio Sola Stadium on Sunday, May 3 from 3:30 p.m., in another match that will be broadcast for free on LPF Play.
