On September 22, the Ballon d'Or ceremony will be held and the 30 nominees will be announced. In addition, it was confirmed that for the first time men and women will have the same categories.
This September 22, France Football will celebrate, once again, the Ballon d'Or gala. This ceremony recognizes the best female soccer players in the world according to the magazine, and this year, for the first time, women's soccer will participate in the awards in the same categories as men's soccer.

Best goalkeeper, best scorer and best U-21 player were the categories incorporated in 2025 for the gala. In addition, the categories that already existed for the discipline are maintained, such as best club, the Cruyff trophy for the best technical director and the biggest prize for the best player.
In total 13 awards will be given and those selected are, for the most part, from European football, as well as all of the nominated clubs and almost all the coaches with the exception of Arthur Elías, the coach of the Brazil National Team.
