Argentina is competing in a new Copa América, this time in Quito, Ecuador, and it started with the right foot: in his first match he beat one of the most difficult rivals in group A, Uruguay, and then celebrated against Chile and Peru. And Florencia Bon Segundo and Betina Soriano spoke exclusively with FutFemGol about this important competition.

“These tournaments are complicated between the altitude and everything that it implies, so on rest days the most important thing is recovery,” Bon Segundo began. Soriano, for his part, delved into the height and said that in the 90 minutes it feels like they are not used to it. However, the player from Córdoba insisted that they prepared in the best possible way.

"The Copa América is going on and the bar is set high. They are working well in the youth teams, in the clubs, in the federations and it shows in the girls who play here. Everything adds up, one always wants to win and we will go on that path," said Bonse and added: "It is not a pressure because Argentine soccer is still growing. A note that in other countries it has grown a lot and they owe us a little more. Let only you be there (FutFemGol) as a medium also attracts a lot of attention. We say that there are people who are aware but there are still people who are not, and sometimes it is tiring to reach a goal due to visibility, but here we are.”

"It hurts because in the end every year you are qualifying for something and we don't have the support we want. We have to get something for this to continue growing," explained the midfielder and said that in the same way the Albiceleste always tries to keep trying.

Beti, for her part, said that, along with Flor, they are one of the group of pioneers who have tried to change many things not only in the National Team, but also in local soccer. Both are friends and exchange their experiences, one from here and the other from Europe. "The change will be seen 15 years from now because there is still a long way to go; the important thing is that we are moving forward. What happens to us is that we have little left because we are already grown up," she explained.

Finally, both agreed that it is necessary to value the efforts of the soccer players who not only train and give up life for the shirt, but also have extra jobs because they cannot make a living from soccer. Even Beti had to take leave from work to be able to travel to the Copa América. Argentina will close the group stage against Ecuador next Thursday at 9:00 p.m.
