The Argentine National Team lost on penalties against Colombia in the first semifinal of the 2025 women's Copa América.
Despite having played one of the best matches in this continental competition, the Argentine National Team failed to beat Colombia on penalties and was eliminated in the semifinal of the Copa América 2025.
The team led by Germán Portanova will compete for third place this Friday against Uruguay, which lost to Brazil in the other semifinal.
In the 90 minutes, Argentina played its best game in the Copa América. With a solid defense with the work of Aldi Cometti and Cata Roggerone, added to the excellent saves of Solana Pereyra and a proactive forward between Florencia Bon Segundo and Yamila Rodríguez, the Albiceleste maintained the danger in the area throughout the first half and much of the second.

In the complement came the changes: at 65' Yamila Rodríguez left to make way for Kishi Núñez and later, at 70 minutes, Milagros Martín was replaced by Eliana Stábile. Finally, at 80', Maricel Pereyra and Sofía Domínguez left for Margarita Giménez and Paulina Gramaglia.
In the end Colombia claimed a penalty for an alleged foul by Sophie Braun in the area, but there was a previous hand in the play by the coffee team, so in regulation time the match ended tied without goals.
In the first penalty shootout Cata Usme, Jorelyn Carabalí, Manuela Paví and Linda Caicedo converted for Colombia, which kicked first. The one who missed the shot was Mayra Ramírez, who hit the crossbar. On the Argentine side, Flor Bon Segundo, Sophie Braun, Aldana Cometti and Kishi Núñez scored a goal, and Katherine Tapia guessed the shot against Paulina Gramaglia.
Wendy Bonilla converted the fifth Colombian penalty and, after Eliana Stábile's error, Colombia was left with the ticket to the final of the Copa América, where they will face Brazil.
