Although initially the Ciudad de Vicente López stadium, Platense's home, was confirmed as the venue for the match between the Argentine National Team and Peru on date 8 of the 2026 Nations League, four days after the match the venue was changed. Finally, the Albiceleste will be home once again on the Lanús field.

The day and time will be the same: Friday, June 5 at 8 pm. However, for reasons that were not officially communicated, Germán Portanova's team will be home to Granate, as happened against Colombia on matchday 7, a match that ended in a draw.

After the match against Peru, the National Team will travel to Quito, where it will face Ecuador on Tuesday, June 9 at 8 p.m. (Argentina time), to close its participation in the Nations League.
One point away from qualifying for the 2027 World Cup
Regarding qualification for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil, the teams that occupy the first two positions in the final classification table of the 2026 Nations League will secure their place. For their part, the teams that occupy the third and fourth positions in the table will qualify for the intercontinental playoff.
In that sense, the Argentine National Team is ranked first, with 14 points, like Colombia. In third place is Venezuela, with 11 units, and then Chile, with 10. One step further down, with eight points, is Ecuador and behind, with 7, are Paraguay and Peru. Uruguay appears in the last positions, with five points, and Bolivia closes, with only one unit.
