The Argentine National Team lost 3-1 to Brazil in the first of the two scheduled friendlies of the FIFA double date. The second meeting will be on Tuesday.

After an adverse first half, although with some exciting touches in the first minutes, the Albiceleste went to half-time down 3-0 in a Beira-Rio Stadium that had 28,386 spectators.
Brazil opened the scoring 27 minutes into the first half through Luany. Eleven minutes later, Geyse increased the difference and, in the 45th minute, Angelina scored the third goal so that the Brazilian team went into the break with a large lead.

At the beginning of the second half, Argentina quickly found the discount. At 51 minutes Maricel Pereyra, recent Brasileirao champion with Sao Paulo, scored 3-1 and gave another boost to the national team, which improved its performance and was superior for a good part of the complement.
Despite the difference in the score, the Albiceleste managed to change the image they had left in the first stage and competed in a different way. However, he was unable to convert again to get even closer to the result.
At the end of the match, 46 minutes into the second half, Agustina “Tota” Vargas received the red card and Argentina finished the friendly with one less player.
In this way, the Argentine National Team suffered a 3-1 defeat in the first of the friendlies against Brazil during the FIFA date in October. Both teams will meet again on Tuesday, October 13 at 8:30 p.m., at the Arena Pernanbuco (Recife), in the second scheduled meeting as part of the preparation for the 2027 World Cup.
