With goals from Mercedes Diz, from a penalty, and Josefina Galarza, the Albiceleste managed to add the point they needed to finish first in their group and advance to the Final Phase.

With this result, Christian Meloni's team finished first in their group despite having equal points with Chile and Colombia and having a worse goal difference than them.
The thing is that Conmebol changed the regulations for this competition and the tie-breaking criterion was first weighted as “direct confrontation, considering only those matches
played in the Preliminary Phase between the teams that tied the position” (in this case they were also all ties).
As it is, the next criterion is the goals in the matches between the equal teams. And this is where Argentina took advantage, since they scored three in total (1-1 vs. Colombia and 2-2 vs. Chile) against two from Chile and one from Colombia.
Now, the Albiceleste will play the semis against Venezuela, a match in which not only will the possibility of playing in the South American final be at stake, but a place in the World Cup in Morocco to be played this year will also be disputed, since the finalists will qualify directly.
For their part, the two losing teams in the semis will face the teams that occupied the third position in each group at the end of the Preliminary Phase, in qualifying matches for said World Cup.
