The Argentine National Team beat Peru 1-0 and qualified for the semifinals of the women's Copa América.
The first defining match for the Argentine National Team arrived in the Copa América 2025 and, with a perfect score so far, the Albiceleste qualified for the semi-finals of the competition.
With a first half where Argentina was the protagonist beyond not having its usual starters, those led by Germán Portanova failed to convert and went into half-time without a goal against Peru.

At the start of the second half Agostina Holzheier, Florencia Bon Segundo and Yamila Rodríguez entered and Kishi Núñez, Maricel Pereyra and Paulina Gramaglia retired in their place. A few minutes later Betina Soriano entered for Vanina Preininger.
The changes were good for the team, which also took control of the ball in the second half, but the cry for a goal took a while to arrive. In the 70th minute Sofi Domínguez was replaced by Caro Troncoso, one of the key changes for Argentina to reach something more.

After the addition of seven minutes once the 90 minutes had passed, with a pass from the right wing by Troncoso, Yamila Rodríguez scored the goal with a header that gave the Argentine National Team the victory. In the last minute of additional time, after a foul on the Boca player, the match referee awarded a penalty to Argentina that Bon Segundo kicked, although it hit the crossbar and the match ended with the victory by the slightest advantage.
With this result the Argentine National Team is already classified for the semifinals of the Copa América that is being played in Quito. The albiceleste will close the group against Ecuador this Thursday at 9:00 p.m. and, if they retain the three points, they will close the group stage with a perfect score and an undefeated classification.
