Aldana Cometti, one of Argentina's figures in this Copa América and a reference for the squad, assured: “We deserved more on this occasion, the team gave everything, there are no reproaches.”
With her sights set beyond the result, the Albiceleste captain added that “we have to keep working, training, we have to keep trying, the results will come” and highlighted the role of the youngest soccer players: “The younger players are very hungry for glory and in a few years it will be a very competitive team.”
Paulina Gramaglia, one of the offensive figures of the tournament, evaluated the team's journey: “We are very aware of the match that was played, of the group stage, of the tournament that was held up to this point, and obviously very sad not to advance to that final, which we deserved.” However, he called not to lower our arms: “We are proud and we have to raise our heads, we have one more game left.”
Moved, Catalina Roggerone focused on the team's attitude: “We leave with a good feeling that we were able to win it, we left everything on the field and this continues. The dedication of each teammate is incredible, like each one gives up their life for this shirt. I take that with me.”
From her experience, Florencia Bonnuevo also highlighted the collective performance. "Happy with what we represent, with what Argentina has done in this tournament. There is still one more step left, today we will pass that bitter pill that we have left and tomorrow we will think about the next game and wait for the opponent," analyzed the Córdoban woman and closed with a powerful message: "Today we saw an Argentina that competes as equals. We continue to set the bar high with all the new girls."
The Albiceleste will have its last appearance in the match for third place against Uruguay this Friday at 9 p.m. (Argentina time) at the Rodrigo Paz Delgado Stadium, in Quito.
