The draw was held to define the positions of the South American National Teams for the start of the Women's Qualifiers, called the Conmebol Nations League.
This year the Conmebol Women's Nations League will be inaugurated, a tournament that will function similar to the Eliminatorias men facing the World Cups.
Previously, South American places to enter the Women's World Cup were obtained by obtaining the biggest prizes in the Copa América. Now, the League of Nations means that the teams not only have more experience, but also do not have to depend on a single sporting result to enter the World Cup.

The Directorate of Competitions and Operations of Conmebol carried out the draw where the nine nations representing the federation were positioned in a ranking to shape the Qualifiers. In this way, the complete calendar of crossings is known.
It should be noted that Brazil will not participate in this instance since it is the only team that is classified because they are hosts of the Mundial 2027.

In total, 36 matches will be played between the South American women's teams that will take place from October 24, 2025 to June 9, 2026. The format will be a single round of matches, all against all in single matches. As there are nine selections, there is one selection per date that will be free.
The teams that occupy the first two places in the table will qualify directly for the World Cup. For their part, those who are positioned in third and fourth place will qualify for the intercontinental repechage.

In the draw table, Argentina was ranked 7th. The Albiceleste will play its first match against Paraguay at home and on the second day it will travel to Uruguay to face the Celeste.
