In search of the title: what does Argentina need to become champion of the 2026 Nations League?
To become champion of the first edition of the Conmebol Women's Nations League, the National Team needs, first, for Colombia not to win against Paraguay (they will play at the same time as the Albiceleste, in Asunción).
And Argentina has 15 points and a goal difference of +12, while the coffee team accumulates 17 points and a goal difference of +8. Thus, those led by Germán Portanova have to add three in Quito against Ecuador and hope that the leaders do not win. In the event that Colombia ties, the goal difference will run.
Qualification for the 2027 World Cup
Regarding the qualification for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil, Colombia is the other National Team that secured its place, while it remains to define the two teams that will go to the playoffs, which will be the ones that finish in third and fourth position in the League of Nations, today occupied by Venezuela and Ecuador, respectively, with 11 units.
In that sense Ecuador, which is undefeated in two home games in the current Nations League, needs a victory to automatically qualify for the playoffs of the 2027 Women's World Cup.
