The draw for the Group Stage of the South American U17 Women's 2026 was held, which will take place from April 24 to May 9 in Paraguay and which grants four places for the World Cup of the category that will be held this year in Morocco.
In that sense, the Argentine National Team is part ofGroup A along withParaguay, Colombia, Chile and Bolivia.
Regarding the format of the competition, the South American Under 17 Women's 2026 will be played in 2 phases: Preliminary Phase, better known as the Group Phase, and Final Phase.
The Preliminary Phase will be played by the ten National Teams distributed in two groups of five teams each, in the round-robin system in a single round of matches.
Once the Group Phase is over, the teams that occupy the first three positions in each group will qualify for the Final Phase, adding a total of six Teams classified to the next round.
In the Final Phase, the first two teams in each group will compete in the semifinals. The two semi-final winners qualify directly for the final of the tournament and also guarantee their place in the 2026 Women's Under 17 World Cup.
For their part, the two losing teams in the semis will face the teams that occupied the third position in each group at the end of the Preliminary Phase, in qualifying matches for said World Cup.
