From November 21 to December 7, the first Women's Futsal World Cup in history will be played in the Philippines. We tell you everything you need to know to follow it.
In a year of many changes for women's football, in this final stretch a historic event will occur: a FIFA Women's Futsal World Cup will be held for the first time. It will be from November 21 to December 7 in the Philippines and all matches will be played at the PhilSports Arena in the city of Pasig, metropolitan Manila. All matches can be seen for free at FIFA+.
In total, in this edition,16 teams will participatedivided into groups of four. The Argentine National Team is part of Group A along with the Philippines, Morocco and Poland; Group B is made up of Spain, Thailand, Colombia and Canada.
For its part, Group C brings together Portugal, Tanzania, Japan and New Zealand and Group D will pit Brazil against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Italy and Panama. The first two in each group will be those who advance directly to the quarterfinals.
It is important to note that in this inaugural edition there will also be other milestones: the Islamic Republic of Iran will participate for the first time in its history in a FIFA women's tournament as well as Tanzania, which will make its senior debut in a FIFA senior tournament, both in the men's and women's disciplines.
