The 2026 Women's Clausura Tournament is beginning, little by little, to accommodate several positions, both in the competition and in the general table. From the possibility of having a new leader of our league to crucial duels in the relegation zone, matchday six will have several unmissable clashes that will heat up the championship.

Date 6 will begin on Saturday, with the duel between Huracán and San Luis. During Sunday's matchday, Newell's will host San Lorenzo, Belgrano will do the same against Lanús and Gimnasia will face off against Talleres in La Plata.
Later, on Monday, Unión will visit Independiente while S.A.T. will face Racing. Finally, Banfield and Ferro will close the day on Tuesday. It should be noted that the Superclásico between River and Boca was postponed, with no recovery date yet.

The Clausura turns red: Independiente will host Unión in a crucial duel for permanence
Independiente and Unión will star in a confrontation that could have a lot of weight in the fight for permanence. The Diablas will host the Tatengas on Monday from 10am at the Santo Domingo Premises, in a duel between two teams that are going through very different realities in the Clausura Tournament, but that appear very close in the general table.
Independiente occupies 14th place in the championship with just three points and has just suffered its sixth defeat in the last seven games. The 0-2 against S.A.T., with a double from Lara López, deepened the bad moment of those led by Leandro Cappuccio, who also appear 14th in the general table with 16 units.

Unión, on the other hand, accumulates eight points in the Clausura and is eighth. The Tatengas come from drawing 1-1 against Huracán, with a goal from Jazmín Lencina, and added their second consecutive draw after having previously tied during their visit to Belgrano. In the annual they are just one place below Independiente, with 11 points.
The only official history between the two also ended in a tie. During the sixth date of the Apertura, Unión and the Diablas tied 2-2 at La Tatenguita. Camila Acevedo and Mailén Herman scored for the Santa Fe team, while Camila Ochoa and Oriana Villa scored for the Avellaneda team. Now they will face each other for the first time officially in Villa Dominico.

Among the protagonists will be Villa, Independiente's top scorer in 2026 with six goals and author of a fundamental double in the comeback against Huracán two games ago. In addition, he scored against those led by Paulo Poccia the only time they faced each other. On the other hand, Lencina will seek to continue her good form after debuting as a scorer in Primera against Quemeras.

Racing will have a special opportunity to recover after a new defeat. The Academics will visit S.A.T. on Monday from 11 a.m. at the 12 de Agosto Stadium, in a match that will once again pit the Apertura champion against the only team that managed to defeat it during that campaign.

Héctor Bracamonte's team lost 1-0 against San Lorenzo on the last date and thus suffered its second fall from the Clausura. With seven points it occupies tenth place in the championship, although its reality in the general table is completely different: Racing is second with 42 units, just behind Santitas but with the match against Lanús to recover.
The TV, on the other hand, arrives with a smile. Those led by Nicolás Basualdo beat Independiente 2-0 with a double from Lara López and returned to victory after two draws and one defeat. La Tele has eight points in the Clausura and occupies seventh place, while in the general table it is ninth with 28 units.
The most recent precedent adds even more interest to the meeting: on the sixth date of the Apertura, S.A.T. surprised Racing and won 2-1 at the Tita Mattiussi with goals from Lara López and Vanina Bruzzone, after Sindy Ramírez put the locals ahead. That was the only defeat for the Acadómicas in the championship that finally established them for the first time. The record, in any case, favors those from Avellaneda, who won five of the nine official matches. La Tele won two and tied the other two.

There will be several reunions between the protagonists. Carolina Sailer - substitute goalkeeper for the Academy - will visit her former club, while Bruzzone will cross paths with Racing again after applying the Law of the Ex in the last duel. The winger also started all 20 games of the season and is the player with the most appearances on her team this season. López will also be under the microscope after his double and having previously converted him to the Acadómicas.

Ferro arrives with the momentum of two consecutive victories. Those led by Juan Palermo beat Gimnasia 2-0, with a double from Alexia Mendoza. Banfield, for its part, drew 0-0 against Boca and obtained its first draw of the championship after having achieved two consecutive wins.
The record also shows marked parity: Banfield won three of the six official matches, and the other three ended in a draw. The most recent precedent was precisely during the Apertura, when Taladro won 1-0 at the Caballito Auxiliary Court with a goal from Ana Sampaio. The last time they faced each other at the Florencio Sola, the scene of the next duel, it was by direct elimination: in the round of 16 of the Second Tournament 2025 they tied 1-1, although Ferro advanced on penalties.
