The activity began in February with the first FIFA friendly windows, where Germán Portanova's team beat Chile on the first date and, on the second, achieved something historic: with a single goal from Yamila Rodríguez, the Argentine National Team defeated Canada for the first time in its history.
These international windows not only served to strengthen the group and the dynamics of the game, but were also the preparations for the Copa América that was played in Ecuador. In this competition, the Albiceleste finished the group stage at the top, undefeated and ended their participation obtaining third place after beating Uruguay on penalties.

Already in the second half of the year there was a very positive development not only for Argentina, but for all the member federations of Conmebol: the Women's League of Nations was inaugurated, a format of crosses between teams that will grant places to compete in the World Cups in Brazil 2027. Until the creation of this competition, to enter a World Cup you had to finish in a good position in the Copa América.
In addition to the new international faces, such as Renata Masciarelli, Kayla Rollins, Nina Nicosia and Alma Velasco, the National Team stood out for the debut throughout the year of many local soccer players, such as Annika Paz, Abril Reche and Carolina Ceniza, and the return of Florencia Bonnuevo.
In total, the Albiceleste played a total of 15 games throughout the year adding all competitions and scored, throughout 2025, 26 goals. After the last matches, they were second in the Nations League table to qualify for the World Cup in Brazil and remained in 30th place in the FIFA Ranking.
At the end of the year, one of the most anticipated news: the National Team will play the playoff for a place in the next Olympic Games. And FIFA confirmed that there will be 16 places for the Los Angeles 2028 Women's Olympic Football Tournament, so CONMEBOL will have two direct places plus an extra one that will be defined in the playoff between Argentina against a country from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
Of course, some news that also filled us with pride in 2025: for the first time in history, a Women's Futsal World Cup was held in the Philippines, and Argentina finished in fourth place, and Kishi Núñez was nominated for the Marta awards for a goal with the Argentine U-20 team.
